Timothy Lake is up near the top of Mount Hood, past Government Camp when coming from Portland. It is well marked and the Forest Road 42 (twisty but paved) takes you about 10 miles from the highway.

The cool thing is that 42 also takes you down to Detriot Lake (near Salem), should you want to lake hop on your excursion.
