I stopped by the discount lumber place to get new skids. I decided to go with 5, figuring they would provide ample protection. At the store, they had some fir that was cut to .5x2, which I figured would be more bendy than 1x2s, so I got 7 of them. I enlisted my neighbor, Lyle, to help me attach the skids. Like an idiot, I was gong to caulk them again, even though I had planned on gluing them. The installation went badly, with both ends splitting when I screwed them to the hull. It was just not a good day.
