What it Is
The 2008 PDR Pan-Galactic, Inter-Dimensional, World Championships is an open invitation to all entities to pit their Puddle Duck Racing skills against the best in the universe.

New to Puddle Duck Racing? Find out everything you need to know at pdracer.com and pdracer.info.

How it Works

  • Don't expect too much organization or information. We are here to have fun and do some sailing. If you can't compete without having fun, don't come.
  • These races will be simple and straightforward and regulated by US Sailing's Simplified Rules. Additionally, if you display unsportsman-like behaviors, you will be disqualified and shunned.
  • This will be a simple 'around the buoys' type of race with a water start: At the signal, boats will cross the start line and sail around the buoys.
  • All racers must report to the Race Committee prior to the start of the first heat. The number of heats leading up to the Championship race will depend on the number of competitors.
  • The course and finishing requirements will be defined at the start of the first heat.
  • YOU MUST BRING A TROPHY TO COMPETE. See examples from the 2006 World Champeenships.
  • At the end of the race, the winner will get to choose his trophy, then the 2nd place racer picks his trophy and so on until the racer who earned last place gets the last trophy.

Who Can Come
Anyone can come, but you need access to a class-legal Puddle Duck Racer and bring a trophy to compete.

What to Bring
Bring a glad heart, a trophy, and a happy spirit. You will need a life jacket and access to a class-legal Puddle Duck Racer to compete.

Where and When

  • These races will be held in Toledo, Oregon as part of the Port of Toledo Wooden Boat Show. If you are bringing a PDR to the races, please register with the Port.
  • Information on amenities, activities, and other subjects can be found on the Port of Toledo website.
  • The first official heat will start at 3pm. The number of heats and competition schedule will be determined prior to the start of the first race.
